The Hottest Zip Codes in the U.S.

Melrose, Massachusetts (ZIP code 02176), Worthington, Ohio (43085), and Fargo, North Dakota (58103) are the hottest ZIP codes in the United States today, according to a study released by Realtor.com. The study took into account how quickly properties are selling in a given ZIP code and how frequently home listings are viewed by consumers.

Each of the top-ranked ZIP codes boast a housing supply and demand that’s about five times stronger than the rest of the country. Homes in these areas sell four to nine times faster than the national average, the study says. The median household income among the top 10 ZIP codes is $71,000, which is 32 percent higher than the national average of $54,000.

“Each locale on this list is emblematic of the key trends driving housing this year — healthy local economics, job opportunities and affordability,” says Jonathan Smoke, Realtor.com’s chief economist.
