Making a Difference Through Volunteer Leadership

Updated July 7, 2026

In a recent episode of Real Estate Real Talk, Kurt Thompson, CRS, joined us to discuss leadership, connection, community and the importance of giving back. Drawing from nearly 30 years in real estate and years of service with RRC, NAR and local REALTOR® associations, Thompson shared how volunteer leadership can help agents build confidence, sharpen professional skills and deepen their connection to the industry.

For Thompson, getting involved doesn’t have to begin with a major title or long-term commitment. It can start by showing up, joining a committee, attending an event or simply lending your voice to the conversation. His message to REALTORS® and CRS designees is clear: raise your hand, get involved and use your experience to make a difference for your peers, your clients and your community.

RRC volunteer applications are open now, including opportunities to serve on national committees and in leadership roles. Members interested in getting involved are encouraged to apply by July 15, 2026, at CRS.com
